Fees from January 2025
Our fee system is based on the human-scale values of social justice and fairness. The fee band system enables the school community to be accessible and diverse in its reach to a broader spectrum of society; as a community of parents and educators, we aim to make a difference in the world by enabling children to access education based on human-scale values where they can develop respect for self and others, an understanding of democracy, social justice and fairness, and sustainability.
By contributing at the highest fee band that is affordable for your family, you can help us to ensure that the school is able to improve the quality of provision and invest in children’s learning, remain accessible to a wide range of families, and ensure that the school can have a strong future providing inspirational education based on the values of human-scale education for generations to come.
It is important that we balance out fees paid by parents so that the average fees received by the school is the same as the cost of keeping a child in the school. The underlying principle of the fee band system is that it needs to be self-balancing - some parents choose to pay more than the nominal cost of educating a child in the school (calculated at band B based on 55 main school children), and this enables some families who would otherwise not be able to be a part of the school to be included at lower fee bands.
The fee system is based on trust and the understanding that we all subscribe to the values of honesty, social justice, and fairness. We do not ask families for evidence of income and assets; we trust you to contribute at a level that is fair, reflecting honestly your own families’ circumstances considering both the income and availability of family assets.
It is a credit to families at Park School that this system has worked well for many years and that this has enabled the school to flourish.
Some of our families may not fall into one of 4 fee band categories and may decide to seek a bursary place. Bursary places are supported by sufficient families paying one of the higher fee bands; Band C, or Band C+. In the circumstance that such numbers of families apply for the lower fee band causing the average fee received per child across the main school to fall below the band B amount, we reserve the right to ask for further evidence of need.
Our document Park Fees 2025, gives an indication of which fee band you should be paying according to family income. Remember, income is based on GROSS INCOME, before tax, pension payments, mortgage payments, loans, etc.
If you are considering applying for a bursary, please follow the instructions in the Fee Information document below. Remember, our ability to provide bursaries is limited and cannot be guaranteed.
